10-11 June, 2017 a sports-technical complex of “Orlyonok” (Tuapse region, Krasnodar territory) is hosting FIM MXGP & MX2 Motocross World Championships and the European Championships EMX 250 and EMX 300.
About 400 powerful riders and the most famous motorcycle manufacturers of the world (Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, KTM, Husqvarna, TM, Yamaha) will become the participants of the event. 90 officials and about 30 FIM officials will work at the Championship.
FIM MXGP/MX2 is the main Motocross World Championship which is held annually in 19 countries. The event in Russia will be the 10th MXGP on the race calendar. The riders will come to our country from France and go to the MXGP of Italy then.
"The Championships of such level assemble the most powerful riders from Japan, the USA, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, China and Europe. The last 3 years our Russian riders are being very successful as well: Evgeny Bobryshev, Alexander Tonkov, Vsevolod Brylyakov. In 2015 Evgeny Bobryshev won the 3rd place in the MXGP Championship. I am sure the Russian riders will show incredible speed and proficiency at our Russian event” said the president of the Motorcycle Federation of Russia (MFR) Mr. Alexander Dzheus.
The Motocross World Championship will be held for the third time in our country. Previously such events were held in Moscow and Ivanovo regions (in 2002 and 2012).
The sports-technical complex of “Orlyonok” which will host the championship this year, is one of the best in Russia. The track meets the latest international standards and technical requirements. Over the last ten years it hosted the European Motocross Championships for five times, and the FIM Junior Motocross World Championship (2016). According to FIM and FIM-Europe estimation these events were held at a high level.
The organizers of the MXGP of Russia are the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, Administration of the Krasnodar territory, the Motorcycle Federation of Russia (MFR), the Motorcycle Federation of Krasnodar territory. The FIM Motocross World Championship is organized in partnership with Youthstream and the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM).
